Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how A-Care Acupuncture & Health Center (“A-Care,” “we,” or “us”) collects, uses, and discloses information in connection with the website at acareacupuncture.com (the “Site”). It does not apply to patient records created in the course of treatment, which are maintained separately in accordance with California law governing medical records.

1. Information We Collect

When you submit an appointment request through the Site, we collect the information you provide: your name, preferred method of contact, telephone number and/or email address, availability, whether you have previously visited the clinic, preferred language, and whether you intend to use insurance. The appointment request form does not ask for health information, and you should not include medical details in it.

If you contact us directly by text message or email, we receive the information contained in that communication.

2. How We Use Information

We use this information solely to respond to your request, schedule appointments, and, where you have indicated that you wish to use insurance, verify coverage before your first visit. We do not sell personal information, share it with third parties for advertising purposes, or use it to send marketing communications.

3. Storage and Retention

Appointment requests are transmitted by email and are not stored on the Site. Emails are delivered through Resend and received in the clinic’s Google Workspace account. We retain appointment requests for as long as reasonably necessary to arrange and manage your appointments, after which they are deleted.

4. Cookies and Third-Party Services

The Site does not set its own cookies and does not use advertising trackers. The Site relies on the following third-party services, each of which processes information under its own privacy policy:

  • Cloudflare, which hosts the Site and provides Turnstile, a bot-detection service used on the appointment request page. Turnstile may set a short-lived cookie for that purpose only.
  • Cloudflare Web Analytics, which provides aggregate visitor statistics without cookies and without identifying individual visitors.
  • Google Maps and Google Fonts, which provide the maps on the contact page and the typefaces used on the Site. When these load, your browser sends a request, including your IP address, to Google, and that information is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.

5. Your Rights and Choices

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the information we hold from your appointment requests by contacting us using the details in Section 8. The Site does not track visitors and therefore honors Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals.

6. Children

The Site is intended for adults. Individuals under 18 should have a parent or guardian submit appointment requests on their behalf.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted, and the date above indicates the most recent revision.

A-Care aims for the Site to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. This includes readable text sizes and color contrast, full keyboard operability, labels on all form fields, text alternatives for images, and no animation for users whose devices request reduced motion.
